'll prob write about the dvd once i've watched it.Tanya (Bump2Basics)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11190613569079236305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1195788236766051950.post-10651396225671739432009-08-01T01:56:59.725+01:002009-08-01T01:56:59.725+01:00hi tanya! i told you i'd be devouring your bl...hi tanya! i told you i'd be devouring your blog! Just wanted to say, I can understand where you're coming from about the whole "community" aspect to your midwife, but if you need to be reminded of why it's so great that you're giving birth in the UK as opposed to the US, just watch "The Business of Being Born" - it's amazing how different cultures (even as similar as US and the Uk are) have such different attitudes about childbirth. My impression from friends and just general reading is that the rate of c-sections is much lower in the UK as compared to the US - and if you watch the documentary you'll get a glimpse into why. The whole thing frightens me and makes me think I'll be a crazed hippie someday giving birth in my living room :) also, for amusing reading on just that topic, check out this blog (particularly this entry): http://www.dooce.com/2009/07/13/labor-story-part-oneSarah Hnoreply@blogger.com
